At the heart of the design is Southerly’s signature lifting keel system. With the keel lowered to 8 feet 11 inches, the 420 delivers deep-draft performance for fast, confident offshore cruising. At the touch of a button, the keel raises to just 2 feet 9 inches, opening up shallow anchorages and hidden harbors that most yachts of her size simply can’t reach. A substantial grounding plate adds strength and versatility, giving you the confidence to explore almost any water.
